Adult Classess
The response to Calpulli’s first adult beginner class has been fantastic! We continue to invite adults to join us on Sunday afternoons. The primary goal of the class is to provide adults of any age access to quality dance training with a teaching artist (often a company dancer), to progress in this training, and to yield the benefits of dance in one’s life, including joy, conditioning, overcoming new challenges, and many others.

World Kitchen offers opportunities to experience the true pleasures of food as nourishment for the body as well as art for the soul. Food industry professionals share their expertise with students at any level of cooking experience.

KAZKA Ukrainian Folk Ensemble was founded in 1987 in order to preserve, promote, and enhance Ukrainian culture, music, and dance in the anthracite coal regions of Northern Pennsylvania. KAZKA is particularly dedicated to the preservation of the music and dance of the first wave of immigrants to the anthracite regions in the late 19th century and early 20th century. KAZKA seeks to share Ukrainian music and dance with a wide audience both at home in Schuylkil County, Pennsylvania and throughout the United States through performances, workshops, and lectures. KAZKA is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in Pennsylvania.

Japan’s famous Tanabata legends, Hikoboshi and Orihime, are introduced through a variety of forms of storytelling including Kamishibai. As a part of Tanabata tradition, participants learn how to make various, fun paper ornaments and their own tanzaku, thin paper strips for writing wishes, to decorate bamboo branches.
Recommended for children ages 3-10 and accompanying adults.
