Dragons Invade Turkey Lake
Mar 31 (Sat) 9am – 3pm. Orlando Dragon Boat Challenge at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. This venue is considered one of Florida’s best water sport venues and while national rowing regatta events have been held on the lake since the 1970s, this will be the first time that the lake will welcome the dragons! Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is a great place for the whole family to spend the day, bring a picnic and enjoy the Spring outdoors in Florida.
Pan Am Dragon Boat, the event organizer, is offering inaugural pricing of 50% off in 2012. Entry is as low as $18 per person ($400 per team). All the equipment is provided for the teams, as well as race day instruction.

2012 Cleveland Asian Festival will have a first ever Sushi Eating Competition, sponsored by Otani Japanese Restaurant. The contest is on Saturday May 19 around 5 PM. Each contestant will be eating 20 piece Sushi vegetable rolls and competing for the shortest time to finish. The winners of the competition will get up to $100 gift certificate to the Otani Japanese Restaurant. All contestants will get a “I survived Sushi Eating Contest!” T-Shirt. Entry fee is only $10. Please join us for the 18th annual Skagit Valley Highland Games & Celtic Festival, July 14-15, 2012, at Edgewater Park in Mount Vernon, WA. Held the second full weekend each July, attendance for the Festival surpasses 10,000 people each year. We think of it as a sort of “Scottish 3-ring circus;’ with a wide range of activities for young and old alike.
The Skagit Valley Highland Games is part of an annual circut of competitions held in the Pacific Northwest and Lower Mainland of British Columbia. As such, the quality of performers in solo bagpiping and drumming competitions, bagpipe bands, fiddling, traditional Scottish athletics (the “heavy” events) and Highland dancing is at an extremely high level.

12th Annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival is July 21-22, 2012 at Sloan’s Lake Park!
The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival (CDBF) is a free family-friendly festival highlighting Colorado’s rich Asian Pacific American heritage at Sloan’s Lake Park in northwest Denver. A window to the Pan Asian world, this diverse festival is the only one of its kind in the United States. It showcases an array of traditional and contemporary performing arts, cultural customs, cuisine and a marketplace of unique and hard-to-find arts, crafts and vendors, in addition to two days of action packed dragon boat racing.

This year, we have over 120 dragon boat teams and 3,500 dragon boat paddlers racing our 500 and 300 meter course.
Dragon boat teams range from novice to competitive skill level. Novice teams represent local Bay Area corporations, public agencies, and non-profit community.
