Meet Illinois artisans at the Chicago Water Works Visitor Center and purchase one-of-a-kind art, made right here in the state. Presented by the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture and the Illinois Artisans Program, this unique event takes place the second Friday and Saturday of every month, and is an opportunity to view live artmaking demonstrations by Illinois artisans and buy their wares.

Cultural Services of the French Embassy will present Delpire’s children books including the original French edition of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are and Crocodile Tears by André François. These publications have entertained several generations of children since the 1950s until now.
In conjunction with this exhibition, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy will host a PANEL DISCUSSION and STUDENT WORKSHOPS.
Presenting classical and seminal publications by now-iconic photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, William Klein, Robert Frank, Josef Koudelka, and Sarah Moon. Holy River is a multimedia exhibition by the New York based artist Prune Nourry and curated by Tatyana Franck. The exhibition is the culmination of a three-year project on gender selection focused on India mirroring the Holy Daughters exhibition that took place in Paris in 2011 on the theme of milk, the theme of this show is water. It features a selection of sculptures, installations, photographs and videos inspired by a performance Prune created last year in Kolkata.
Conjoining with the diverse layers of Nourry’s art, performances throughout the exhibition will feature a special sensory experience in the artistic merging of dance curated by Simon Dove and performed by Preeti Vasudevan, sound by Mitchell Yoshida, smell by Olivier Delcour, and taste by Michael Hamilton.

On the occasion of Tribal Art Week in New York, Friedman & Vallois will present the exhibition Africa from May 9 to June 30, 2012, in partnership with fine art studio Gallery – Sandra Agbessi from Brussels and Bernard Dulon Gallery from Paris.
This exhibition will introduce in exclusivity for the first time in the United States the works of protean artist from Benin, Africa, Dominique Zinkpè. Will be exhibited 20 works in various media including sculpture and works on paper, all produced in 2010. concurrently, renown African and Tribal Art dealer Bernard Dulon will present a series of exclusive objects.
