The African American History Seminar will utilize videos, guest speakers, and dialogue to look at African American History from the beginning of time to the present. In this seminar, we will examine historical information and sociological behavior. Everyone is welcome.

The 44th annual Native American Day, sponsored by the State Native American Liaisons of California, is held on the grounds of the State Capitol. This year, the event is combined with the State Indian Museum’s Honored Elders Day. Speakers include California Indian leaders. Music and dancers are on hand to honor the spirit and contributions of the State’s indigenous people.
Guests will enjoy cultural demonstrations, compelling guest speakers, the Tule River Color Guard, traditional games, music and dancing, artisans showcasing their wares, informative booths, including an update on the exciting new California Indian Heritage Center project, and much more.

Boys to Men Male Empowerment Seminar on Thursday, September 22, 2011. The purpose of this program is to provide an atmosphere that will foster intellectual exchange by addressing the educational, emotional, life skills and aspirations of African-American males young and old. Additionally, the objective of this seminar is to establish communication and networking among our young African-American males and their older African- American male counter-parts that will foster an environment that is catered to establishing goals and initiatives that will provide a solution to the issues that our young African American men face.
