Grape Harvest dinner dance at Sokol New York
Vinobraní literally translated means Grape Harvest Dance. Rich soil in Bohemia and Moravia and their mild climate were well suited for the cultivation of grapes. Local wine industries developed. Near the end of the growing season the farmers would contract with the vintner to sell their grapes. After an agreement was concluded, the grapes became the property of the winemaker (even though the grapes were still on the vine).
Soon it became mischievous sport for the former owners of the grapes to sneak out into the fields and remove portions of the crop from the vine. The new owners of the grapes had to keep watch over their investment. To do this they employed constables to police the vineyards. The townspeople did everything they could to outw ... 
The St. George Maronite Catholic Community will host a Lebanese Festival (Friday, November 4th through Sunday, November 6th 2011) to share the beautiful heritage of the Lebanese tradition with San Antonio and surrounding communities at-large. This promises to be a fun-filled family cultural celebration showcasing the Lebanese of San Antonio and the rich heritage that has been preserved since the Lebanese first immigrated in the 1880’s. Visitors will enjoy authentic Lebanese food, indoor stage performances by the Lebanese dance troupe, learn how to Dabke (the traditional folk dance of Lebanon), enjoy Friday and Saturday evening performances featuring a live band and so much more.
