Tamil Manram is proud to present Pongal Vizha 2012. This will be a multicultural event with Pongal and Tamil folk theme.
Local talents both adults and kids will present kolaattam, kummi aattam, oyilaattam, puli aattam etc. We will also have a fashion show parade with participants in Tamil traditional attire.
Tamil Manram members will have an opportunity to give a short speech on how Pongal was celebrated during Tamil po period. We are also planning for competitions to break sugarcane, rangoli, mechanical bull riding, and others.

The International Children’s Festival is presented each May by Meridian International Center, THIS for Diplomats, and Cultural Tourism DC. Part of Meridian and THIS educational outreach efforts, it provides programming—free of charge—to District of Columbia Public School students. Reggae bands, steel drums, and beach music fill the streets. This arts & cultural event also features Caribbean-style food, an open air marketplace, island activities for kids, and a sand beach.
