Dion is a life long lover of music in all forms. Having had a childhood rich with music from the Caribbean, Africa, Cuba and Puerto Rico, as well as the soulful sounds of both blues and R&B musicians, here in the U.S. It is no surprise then, that Dion was drawn to the music of these places as a musician. He has spent more than ten years, studying the language, food, clothing, dance and of course music of these places in particular.
Dion has a special interest in the culture of the West African countries of Guinea, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Mali ...

During Navratri, September 30th, October 1st, 7th & 8th of 2011,over 15,000 take to the streets for dancing and celebration. The streets are blocked off, performance venues erected, the festivities continue until wee hours. The nights are filled with music, exotic foods, dancing and singing, it is a cultural experience not to be missed.
The festival of Navratri represents the nine manifestations of Durga, the goddess of power, a special celebration of the triumph of good over evil.

The Before the Snow: Japan Earthquake Disaster Relief 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 30 at 10 a. m. in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ will raise money to help the victims of the earthquake this winter and support reconstruction efforts. Liberty State Park in Jersey City, features breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline as well as easy access by ferry, PATH train, and Light Rail. A shuttle bus will be arranged from the Exchange Place PATH station on the day and participants are encouraged to take the ferry to the run site from World Financial Center.
