The Institute of Masters of Wine (North America), together with the Verband Deutscher Qualitäts- und Prädikatsweingüter Association (VDP – The Association of German Quality and Prädikat Wine Estates) is pleased to announce a special tutored tasting, which will be led by Lisa Granik MW and Sheri Morno MW as well as German winemakers, and will highlight wines made from two varieties: Riesling and Spätburgunder. Both recent and older vintages of each variety will be featured allowing for a fascinating and unique look at how these grapes develop and age. The event will conclude with an exquisite vertical of Riesling Kabinett wines.

Seattle’s fall tradition, the Fremont Oktoberfest from September 23 to 25, is fun for everyone from the creative kids to the fair food foodie. In the free Village area, located just outside the entrance to the Fremont Oktoberfest Tasting Garden, guests can also groove to music on the Village Stage, shop the Village Market, or grab a pint in the Pyramid Breweries Village Garden.
In the Kids’ Area, young ones and their parents can feed their need for speed by racing decorated veggies in the Zucchini 500, bowl with sugar pumpkins, get their faces painted, or creatively carve pumpkins. Pig Out in the Park is open 10am to 10 pm daily and features: free admission, 54 food booths with over 250 different menu items, 82 free concerts on three stages and 3 adult beverage gardens. Nothing is over a measley $8.95.
