Join New York’s Mexican community at the eleventh annual Mexican Day Parade. This is a wonderful and fun parade that features the most vivid and colorful floats, folkloric dancers and Mariachis. A variety of different musical groups and beautiful, traditional costumes will be highlighted. There is an impressive number of community contingencies, floats, marching bands and musical groups which provide a festive and lively mood to the parade.
The Mexican Parade is held on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. Parade participants are 5,000 plus and parade spectators are over 250,000. There is media coverage on Spanish television, radio and print.

The annual Cinco de Mayo celebration at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. May 5.
The event will feature performances of traditional Mexican dances in the Hart-Morris Conservation Center. Athens area elementary students will perform at noon followed by Tyler Ballet Folklorico at 1:00 p.m. and the children’s Tyler Ballet Folklorico at 3:00 p.m.
Athens area restaurants will compete in a salsa contest, which will be judged at 1:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to sample the entries following the judging.
The Blackland Prairie Raptor Center will do walk-around displays of birds including owls and hawks throughout the day. Visitors will be able to see the birds at close range and learn about their abilities and habits.

Celebrate the 6th annual Fiesta Atlanta on Sunday May 6th, 2012 at Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of Atlanta. Fiesta Atlanta features a daylong Cinco de Mayo celebration, featuring international, national and local recording artists, mariachi music, Mexican folk dancing, a 5K race, youth soccer clinics and sponsor displays with free product samples, arts and crafts and authentic international foods make Fiesta Atlanta a true multicultural celebration!

The National Asian Heritage Festival -Fiesta Asia is a street fair held in Washington, DC in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The event showcases Asian art and culture with a wide array of activities including live performances by musicians, vocalists and performance artists, Pan-Asian cuisine, martial arts and lion dance demonstration, a multicultural marketplace, cultural displays and interactive activities.
