Rangoli is a decorative design made on the floor to signify sacred, welcoming areas for Hindu deities. Using found and recycled materials, children and their families will create this beautiful, traditional decorative folk art of India. Kimberly Carmody, founder of Urban River Arts, will facilitate the creation and dismantling of this interactive rangoli. Dismantling ceremony at 3:45.

Celebrate Korean New Year (Sŏllal) with a day of fun-filled family activities at The Korea Society! Enjoy storytelling and show respect for elders with the New Year’s bow (sebae). Play traditional games such as tuhonori (similar to horseshoes), join a dance and sing-a-long, create kites, masks, and other crafts, and sample tasty Korean treats! Unforgettable memories await your family at The Korea Society.

The Qing Ming Festival is a celebration of those who came before you. Graves are swept and cold delicacies are served. Once the celebration is over, the food is then shared with family and friends and the rest of the day is spent flying kites, dancing and playing games that are perfect for spring!
Come join MOCA for a fun filled day to usher in the Spring during our QING MING FESTIVAL FAMILY DAY. There will be kite making workshops, arts and crafts drop-in stations, and teaching artists demonstrations throughout the day.
