The Día de los Muertos events are offered to the public in order to present and preserve this uniquely Mexican cultural celebration while also participating in its evolution as members of diverse cultures cross paths in the United States and traditions further evolve.;’
A photographic exhibit by Steve St. John and workshops will be part of the Día de los Muertos activities.

Saturday Oct 15th, the San Diego Brazil Fest (Day Event at Liberty Station) and Daniela Mercury (Night Event at 4th & B) will bring activities for the whole family during the day and including sports & fitness workshops as well as non-stopping dancing with the show of “Queen of Axe” Daniela Mercury, direct from Brazil.

Families are invited to head to the Dana Discovery Center afterschool gets out, and kick off their weekend with the Museum for African Art educators. Design a fabric print inspired by a variety of natural designs found in Africa. Participants can drop in anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 pm. This program is co-presented by The Central Park Conservancy and for more information, call 212-860-1370.

At a sedenka — a traditional Bulgarian work party — folks bring their knitting and hand crafts, sing, dance, tell stories and eat treats. We’ll be doing much the same with you at our Spring Sedenka! So, bring your knitting, bring your children, and bring your dancing shoes if you like. For a special musical treat Divi Zheni’s “2nd Generation”—Jordan, Kira, and Hunter—will perform a song they have been learning with Tatiana!
This event is a fundraiser to help renovate the church’s Community Supper Kitchen, which feeds over 100 people every week

The church, our musical home for rehearsals, is in Brighton Center on the 57 and 86 bus lines.
