MUSIC BY: DJ JEPHTE GUILLAUME
HOSTED BY: JUBE ALTINO
BROUGHT TO YOU BY: PAPA JUBE & SOBS
The task of any great artist is to create days of future past, to make memories that will be looked back upon one day with fond nostalgia. Heartfelt songs that invoke love, play, heartache and reconciliation tend to stand that particular test of time when it comes to R&B music. Singer/songwriter Teedra Moses’ debut album Complex Simplicity passes that test with flying colors. Complex Simplicity harks back to the sassy, playful 1980s tunes of Cherrelle while blending in Teedra’s own new millennium brand of soul.

Several years after releasing his commercial breakthrough album Stop All The World Now, singer and songwriter Howie Day breaks his silence with his long-awaited third studio album Sound the Alarm. The album is a stunning collection of the kind of emotionally resonant, melody-minded pop-rock gems that have earned Day a legion of devoted fans over the past 10 years. Sound the Alarm comes after more than a decade of touring, during which the Bangor, Maine, native self-released his 2000 debut Australia and became a full-time traveling musician. He became known for his powerful one-man shows, connecting with audiences through his charm, humor, the strength of his songwriting, and a warm tenor voice that “soars into fluttering, high registers, but also grates with real, pleading grit,” as one cr ...

It was folk musician and storyteller Tom Brousseau who first planted the seeds for Hilary Hahn and
Hauschka’s debut collaborative album, SILFRA, encouraging his friends Hahn, the prodigiously
talented American violinist, and Volker Bertelmann, the German master of prepared piano known
to music fans as Hauschka, to explore one another’s work. The gestation period proved long, but –
over two years later – it takes only a moment chatting to Hahn and Hauschka to recognise thegenuine enthusiasm and excitement that lie behind this ambitious, free-spirited and frequently
innovative collection.

Composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Taj Mahal is one of the most prominent and influential figures in late 20th century blues and roots music. Though his career began more than four decades ago with American blues, he has broadened his artistic scope over the years to include music representing virtually every corner of the world – west Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, the Hawaiian islands and so much more. What ties it all together is his insatiable interest in musical discovery. Over the years, his passion and curiosity have led him around the world, and the resulting global perspective is reflected in his music today.
