Since 2005 the TransAltantic Ensemble has been making music together as a duo on either side of the Atlantic. Hailing from Berlin and New York, the ensemble has aimed to bring together the elements that make classical music the evolution of sound that it is today. Their performances have gained the audiences of contemporary, crossover, classical and even jazz tastes.
They have performed in Carnegie Hall with Paquito D’Rivera, Symphony Space, Chamber Music Lincoln Center, also in Hamburg, Leipzig, Costa Rica with several repeat performances throughout Berlin.
The concert is one hour long; there is no charge for admission

Join Dawn Upshaw, Richard Tognetti, and his “badass classical band” (Time Out New York), the Australian Chamber Orchestra, for Shostakovich, Grieg, and the New York premiere of Winter Morning Walks, written by New York–based jazz composer Maria Schneider expressly for Upshaw and this orchestra. Inspired by her native Midwest, the composer says the piece strives for “broad openness with an accessible, simple beauty.”

The Florida State University College of Music presents “An Evening of Chamber Music at Carnegie Hall”
The program showcases two duos; the first half features the settings of the poetry of Langston Hughes performed by Albert Lee (tenor) and Edward Rothmel (piano). The second half of the program traces the musical journey of dynamic pianists Hyemin Kim and Joohae Kim. Hyemin Kim introduces the program with a solo piano piece “Wizards: Three Magic Masters” by American composer Judith Lang Zaimont.
