Hopes are high as we approach this year’s Newport International Boat Show, one of the four largest in-water boat shows in the country. Each year it is filled with both power and sail boats displayed over 13 acres along America’s Cup Avenue. This year is no exception, expecting some 750 exhibitors with over 600 boats ranging in size from 16 to 100 feet, plus, kayaks, inflatables, services, equipment and accessories of all types. The 2012 Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival will be held at Marine Stadium in Long Beach on July 28 – July 29, 2012. A weekend of races in magnificently-decorated canoes/Dragon Boats showcasing pageantry, diversity and sportsmanship from across the globe and as well as an on-shore festival. In addition to hosting one of the largest dragon boat competitions in California, there will be Chinese traditional art demonstrations, Chinese Acrobats, traditional dance, hip hop music and martial arts performances.
