The area’s oldest – the 133rd original Oktoberfest — kicks off September 23‐25, at the United German Hungarians (UGH) Club in Lower Bucks.
Celebrating its 100 anniversary, UGH has award-winning dance and soccer teams, which will be involved in the celebration. In addition, each day offers special performaces:
· Friday night, Sept. 23, features “Rocktoberfest,” featuring party band Big Romeo.
· Saturday, Sept. 24, join all the major German clubs in the area for the 41st Annual Steuben Parade (www.steubenparade.com/phila). Then come back to the UGH for HeimatkKlaenge orchestra and “Emil Schanta” from 3 to 7 p.m. Also performing the UG ...
Interested in Russian culture and culinary traditions? You can experience them at Vernissage Tastings event sponsored by Food by Foot. Vernissage is a Russian restaurant, bar and banquet hall in Brookline’s Washington Square. You will get to taste Russian symbolic dishes, learn a whole lot about Russian culture and traditions and play some fun games. Food by Foot host will even teach how to drink vodka in a Russian way. Enjoy complimentary Russian style buffet with hot dishes and soft drinks.
