Coya Paz in partnership with Voice of the City presents THE AMERICANS.
An original performance about how diverse Americans define being “an American” during a time of national crisis. Based on conversations with over 100 people- mostly strangers, on the street- in 10 states. The Americans is a fast, funny, openhearted look at a national culture built on the importance of individual freedoms.
It was workshopped with Halcyon Theatre as part of the DCA Incubator series, and this run kicks off the inaugural season of programming at the new Arts Center, Logan Square Avondale.

The music was commissioned and will be premiered by American Composers Orchestra. This concert will be hosted by WNYC’s John Schaefer and recorded for rebroadcast on WNYC’s New Sounds.
Recipient of many prestigious awards including the 2011 Con Edison Musicians’ Residency: Composition Program, Walter Hinrichsen Award and Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Lee has received numerous commissions including from Del Sol String Quartet, Indiana University Jacob School of Music Percussion Ensemble, and world renowned Gramophone Award French pianist Pascal Rogé.

Pig Out in the Park is open 10am to 10 pm daily and features: free admission, 54 food booths with over 250 different menu items, 82 free concerts on three stages and 3 adult beverage gardens. Nothing is over a measley $8.95.
One of the things Spokane likes best about Pig Out is the ethnic and cultural diversity of the people and restaurants. This year’s event is a good example.
