If you are fortunate enough to be here for an Indian Festival you are really in for a treat. During Navratri, September 30th, October 1st, 7th & 8th of 2011,over 15,000 take to the streets for dancing and celebration. The streets are blocked off, performance venues erected, the festivities continue until wee hours. The nights are filled with music, exotic foods, dancing and singing, it is a cultural experience not to be missed.
The festival of Navratri represents the nine manifestations of Durga, the goddess of power, a special celebration of the triumph of good over evil.
Come out and celebrate! Please wear smart attire. No shorts or tank tops. Wear light, comfortable shoes for dancing.
