Purim Soirée - The Jewish Museum’sTwenty-Sixth Annual Purim Ball
PARIS . . . at the beginning of the twentieth century. Few times have been
as urbane or as daring—when carriage met aeroplane, when the ancien régime
met modernity, head-on. In the laboratory of modernism, painters and poets
joined patrons and muses—in cafés, gardens, city interiors, and country châteaux. These encounters set the tone for our Purim Ball 2012.
A modern prophet, few might match Vuillard’s fusion of tradition and the avant-garde. His novel approach to space, color, texture and pattern capture his sensuality and vision.
Join us for the Purim soirée—where Israeli-born artist Izhar Patkin will use
light as his medium to invoke Vuillard’s seductive mood.
