Folktales and myths from different cultures and spiritual traditions can seem deceptively simple, but can have enormous consequences for how people live their lives. This evening engages our capacity to wonder and reflect as we hear Native American, African, Middle Eastern, Asian, European, and Ancient Greek tales about life beyond death. Their themes include: What happens after death? And is there a Heaven and Hell? They engender in us questions like, where did I get my beliefs about what happens when we die? Do I have choices in the afterlife as I do here? How do my beliefs about death influence the way I live right now?
